Child Impact Program

New Hampshire law (RSA 458-D) requires that anyone with minor children who is getting divorced or who has filed or responded to a parenting petition must attend a mandatory four-hour Child Impact Program (CIP). This program is designed to help parents navigate the transition to becoming successful co-parents. It also provides information and skills that will help minimize the impact of divorce or separation on children. You must show the court a certificate of attendance from the provider, or your case may be delayed.

The cost of this program is $85.00 and must be paid to the program provider. If you are unable to afford the program fee, you may contact the provider to see if you qualify for a fee reduction.

You should register for a class as soon as possible, but no later than 45 days after service on the respondent. It is expected that you will have registered for or completed the class before First Appearance in your case. A party who fails to complete the requirements as directed may be subject to sanctions by the court.

To register, you may call one of the CIP providers listed on page 2 of the Child Impact Program notice or by contacting a provider through their website: https://cip.nhcbha.org/ChildrenFirst.cfm.
