Sullivan County has two district divisions:

  1. 5th Circuit - District Division - Claremont
  2. 5th Circuit - District Division - Newport

Jurisdiction: City of Claremont and the towns of Cornish, Unity, Charlestown, Acworth, Langdon, and Plainfield.

Directions

From the north: Take Interstate 89 South (out of Vermont) and get off at Exit 20 in West Lebanon onto Route 12A. The sign at the exit ramp will say “Claremont 20 miles”. Take a right onto Route 12A and go straight for about 20 miles through Plainfield. You will reach the intersection of Route 12A and Route 12 at a traffic light. Make a left at the light and go straight on Route 12 for 4 miles into downtown Claremont. Once in Claremont the court is located in the center of downtown, on the green, in the largest building. The building is a gothic style brick City Hall Building with a tall clock tower. The building houses the Claremont City Hall, the Claremont Opera House, and attached to it in a modern addition is the Claremont Police Department. The District Court is on the second floor right above the Police Department.

From the south: Take Interstate 93 North to Interstate 89 North and get off at Exit 9 (Warner). You will then take a Right of the of the exit ramp onto Route 11 and 103 the sign says “Newport 24 miles”. Follow Routes 11 and 103 all the way through Newport and then into Claremont. Once in Claremont the court is located in the center of downtown, on the green, in the largest building. The building is a gothic style brick City Hall Building with a tall clock tower. The building houses the Claremont City Hall, the Claremont Opera House, and attached to it in a modern addition is the Claremont Police Department. The District Court is on the second floor right above the Police Department.

From Interstate 91 in Vermont: Get off at Exit 8 (Ascutney, VT and Claremont, NH) and go East on Route 12 for 5 miles into downtown Claremont. Once in Claremont the court is located in the center of downtown, on the green, in the largest building. The building is a gothic style brick City Hall Building with a tall clock tower. The building houses the Claremont City Hall, the Claremont Opera House, and attached to it in a modern addition is the Claremont Police Department. The District Court is on the second floor right above the Police Department.

From the north: Take Interstate 93 South to Interstate 89 North. Proceed on Interstate 89 North to Exit 12 (39 miles). Take Route 11 West into Newport (11 miles). At Main Street, you have to go around a circle. Follow the circle to turn left onto Main Street. On Main Street go until you reach Harrington’s Jewelry Store. The court will be the next building on your right
